Shekarau Dumps NNPP for PDP
The former governor of Kano State, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau will on Monday formally dump NNPP for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Shekarau is joining PDP few months after his defection from APC following disagreement with Governor Abdullahi Ganduje over party leadership in Kano.
His latest political move follows Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso and NNPP refusal to give tickets to some staunch loyalists to contest elective positions in 2023 general elections.
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, and national leaders of the party are expected in Kano on Monday to receive the Senator representing Kano Central, Ibrahim Shekarau.
Shekarau served as Kano State Governor from 2003 to 2011. He is the current Senator representing Kano Central Senatorial district.
