SPORTS FIESTA: 251 Participants Register Play With Kwara Youth
The Play With Kwara Youth (PWKY) – an establishment that provides recreational sports programs that bring together youth across communities in Kwara state has drawn the curtain for the Third Edition application portal, with a total of 251 youth applying from the three senatorial districts in Kwara and neighbouring States.
The application pool reflects PWKY’s commitment to inclusivity. Of the applicants, 230 (91.6%) were male and 21 (8.4%) were female. The most popular games of interest were football with 208 applicants representing (82.9%), followed by Table Tennis with 23 applicants representing (9.2%) and Ludo with 20 (8%) applicants.
In terms of geographic spread, 109 (43.4%) were from Ilorin West, 41 (16.3%) were from Ilorin East, Ilorin South had 22 (8.8%) applicants while 17 (6.8%) showed interest from Asa local government.
Additionally, 17 (6.8%) were from Ifelodun, Irepodun 4 (1.6%), Offa 8 (3.2%), Isin and Oke Ero jointly polled 4 applicants totalling (1.6%). Oyun and Ekiti equally shared 10 applicants representing (4%).
On the side of Moro local government, 7 applicants representing (2.8%) showed interest while Baruten had 3 (1.2%). In Patigi and Edu local governments, 4 (1.6%) and 5 (2%) showed interest respectively.
As an entity, interested in teaching teamwork, and fostering connections regardless of socio-political tendencies, we are thrilled to see youth from all corners of Kwara State eager to participate in PWKY 3.0.
In view of this, the PWKY Team has deemed it fit to communicate with all successful applicants via their email. Importantly, the payment for this year’s customized jersey remains N4,000 ONLY which must be paid to Basheer Luqman Olanrewaju (8106710901 Opay) to further validate participation.
