Still on Yahaya Bello and EFCC Drama

Alhaji Yahaya Bello became Kogi State Governor in 2016 after his successful experience as CEO/Managing Director of FairPlus. His journey to Lord Lugard Government House was rough but the determination and resilience of Yahaya Bello plus God’s grace earned him number one job in Kogi State.

Bello’s success story as son of nobody become a Governor was welcomed with mixed feelings. People in the old order perceives him as a threat to their continue dominance in Kogi politics while others see Bello as vista of hope and symbol of strengthen for youth inclusiveness in governance.

Yahaya Bello has indelible footprints across three Senatorial district of the North Central State. He ensured transparency and equitable distribution of projects and programmes across the state. His ran people-focused government which led to series of propaganda, media manipulation and dissemination of false information to dent his image.

No wonder, some unintelligent propagandists still believe he didn’t execute any project despite establishing two new State owned Universities in Okene and Kabba.

It’s therefore not surprising to see the anti-graft agency allegedly playing script design by Yahaya Bello’s political detractors to tarnish his image and force the young man to political silence for selfish reasons.

The inconsistency and misrepresentation facts in their case against Yahaya Bello will make the public rethink the anti corruption crusade in Nigeria. Is the body a tool in the hand of political jobbers? Are they working to fight corruption or fight courage/fearless political figure like Yahaya Bello?

Sincerely, we must continue to ask the right questions in order to move this country forward. Don’t use anti-graft agency to fight individual battles.
