Stockbrokers Institute Appoints Adeonipekun As Registrar

The Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) has appointed Mr. Ayo Adeonipekun as its new Registrar and Chief Executive.
The President of the Institute, Mr. Oluropo Dada announced the appointment on Thursday in Lagos.
The CIS President highlighted that the role of Chief Executive is critical, requiring strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the capital market.
Adeonipekun brings over 25 years of extensive experience in leadership, finance, people management, corporate planning, and administration. He succeeds Dr. Josiah Akerewusi, who retired after a decade of service to the institute.
Prior to his appointment, Adeonipekun served as the pioneer Managing Director of Reliance Capital Limited, a funds and portfolio management firm licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

An alumnus of Lagos Business School, Adeonipekun holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting (Second Class Upper Division) and a Master’s Degree in Finance from Olabisi Onabanjo University.
He also earned a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy from Yaba College of Technology and is currently pursuing a PhD in Finance at Olabisi Onabanjo University.
Adeonipekun is a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (I CAN). He is a Certified Microfinance Banker (CIBN-MCP), and Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).
He is also a Trading License holder of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) and a Registered Capital Market Operator and Sponsored Individual with SEC.
The new CIS Registrar has held top management positions at leading organizations such as Marina International Bank (now Access Bank), Crossword Securities Limited, Sterling Bank, First City Monument Bank Plc, Susu Microfinance Bank, and MBL Financial Services.
