Sunday Babalola’s KCDI Partners NCRI on Kwara Young Farmers Club

Kwara Citizenship Development Initiative( KCDI), an initiative of Engr Sunday Babalola has partnered National Cereals Research Institute( NCRI) to kick start Kwara Young Farmers Club.
Kwara Young Farmers Club is a post JICA Research Fellowship Action Project of Abioye Mumeen to Reorientation of young school children on agricultural perception and general impressions about farming and farmers.
The Club will train Junior Secondary school students on opportunities in farming and numerous benefits to the society as well as national development.

Abioye Mumeen in a chat with FactualTimes says Kwara Young Farmers Club would redirect focus of people from over dependency on white collar jobs.
The Researcher who recently returned to Nigeria after intensive fellowship program in Japan, described the project as a way of applying knowledge gained to solve problem and add value to nation’s economy.
According to him, the club project that will commence by May 2024 is being implemented in collaboration with National Cereals Research Institute( NCRI), Kwara Citizenship Development Initiative( KCDI), Japan International Cooperation Agency( JICA-Nigeria) and Kwara Tabloid Media.
His words: “The broad objective is to drive improved national productivity through agricultural entrepreneurship by younger generations of Nigeria. This will ignite passion of and catch the younger generation of Nigerians into the agricultural value chain using the instrumentation of collective engagement and club activities.”
FactualTimes reports that pilot study will be executed in four schools within the pilot across the three senatorial districts of Kwara State.
The participating schools zones are;
1) Government Secondary School, Panada, Ilorin East LGA.
2) Etsu Abdullahi Government High School, Bacita Village, Edu LGA.
3) Government Secondary School, Gwanara, Baruteen LGA.
4) Government Secondary School, Omu- Aran, Irepodun LGA.
Our Correspondent reports Kwara Citizenship Development Initiative KCDI) is expected to provide some logistics support to ensure smooth running of the club.
