Tanke Killing: Deceased Family Petitions IGP, Kwara Police Commissioner
The family of Ayeyemi Sulaiman has petitioned Kwara Police Commissioner, Victor Olaiya and Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun over killing of their son by Police in Tanke area, Ilorin.
Ayeyemi Sulaiman, son of popular Kwara Hotelier (Ayeyemi Hotel Ajase-Ipo) reportedly passed November 5, 2024 after humiliation and torture by Police Officers.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that Sulaiman was waylaid by the officers who allegedly appeared from a tricycle and dragged him to the ground while trying to withdraw from a POS.
He was subsequently manhandled and reportedly hit on his head with a gun which led to his death.
The family alongside their lawyer met CP Victor Olaiya at Police Headquarters, Ilorin to submit their petition.
They urged Kwara Police Commissioner noted to sweep the case urgent carpet or change their narrative in order to protect erring officers.
Ayeyemi family also appealed to Inspector General of Police to intervene by getting justice for innocent and promising young man killed by Police Officers.
They also implored Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to take necessary steps to avoid senseless killing by security agencies in the state.
