…Workers Shutdown Ile-Ife for Protest

The administration of President Bola Tinubu has sacked over 2000 health workers employ by former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari administration employed the workers to fill vacancies at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife in October 2022.

FactualTimes gathered the employment process was done in compliance with Federal Civil Service Commission guidelines.

OAUTHC Workers Protect

However, the affected workers are yet to be captured on Federal Government payroll platform-IPPIS.

Recall that Minister of Health, Dr Ali Pate in series of tweets and official communications promised to resolve the pending issues for workers to get 13 months salary and five months wage award.

OAUTHC Management on Tuesday, January 31, 2024 directed affected workers to stop coming to work without formal disengagement letter.

Our Correspondent reports that all workers of OAUTHC have shutdown major roads in Ile-Ife to protest insensitivity of the CMD and Federal Ministry of Health.
