Tinubu Appoints Sacked NIS Boss, Two Others as Ambassadors
President Bola Tinubu has nominated the Director General of National Intelligence Agency, Ayodele Oke sacked by late President Muhammadu Buhari and two others as Ambassadors.
Tinubu on Wednesday forwarded the name of former Director General of State Security Services, Kayode Are, former Director General National Intelligence Agency, Ayodele Oke ana Amin Muhammed Dalhatu to Senate for confirmation.
Recall that Buhari suspended Ayodele Oke in April 2017following recovery of funds at a Lagos apartment (described as an operational safe house).
The Senate President Godswill Akpabio read the names of Ambassadors-Designate during plenary on Wednesday.
FactualTimes reports that this is the first time President Tinubu will nominate Ambassadors since 2023.
This is coming amidst diplomatic crisis between Nigeria and United States of America.
