Wait Till 2031, Igbokwe Advises Atiku, Obi
By Femi Ogundele
Joe Igbokwe, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, has urged presidential aspirants to suspend their ambitions for the 2027 elections, arguing that President Bola Tinubu requires a second term to complete his agenda.
In a post shared on his Facebook page, Igbokwe stated that Tinubu would remain in power until 2031, as he needs eight years to “set the records straight.”
“If any presidential aspirant is dreaming of winning presidential elections in 2027, I will advise that candidate to perish the thought till 2031. PBAT is destined to remain in the seat of power till 2031,” Igbokwe wrote.
His remarks follow speculations that Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are considering a joint challenge against Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Igbokwe’s statement has fueled conversations around the political future of Nigeria, with mixed reactions from political observers and party supporters.
