A leader of an advocacy group, called, “Women Arise and Centre for Change” (WACC) Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin, has charged security agencies to stay clear of any action that could promote lost of lives of citizens in the governorship elections of the duo of Edo and Ondo states.
She made this charged in a statement titled “Waste no life in Edo and Ondo,” made available to newsmen in Lagos.
Edo state is set to hold its governorship poll this weekend to be followed by that of Ondo next month.
Okei-Odumakin, said, it is imperative for all Nigerians as they could not forget so soon how innocent souls were brutally wasted during the last governorship election in Kogi.
She said the advocacy group under her still feels the deep pains in heart about the woman who was sent to her untimely grave to after the last poll exercise in Kogi State.
“It is imperative we warn security agencies to ensure that no life is wasted as Edo State goes to election this weekend and Ondo State in October.
“We cannot forget so soon how innocent souls were wasted during the elections in Kogi. We still carry deep pains in our hearts about the woman who was hacked to death even after the elections in Kogi,” she said.
She however applauded the US government of placing traveling ban on election riggers in Nigeria which she said it will serves as deterrent for orher politicians who have such abysmal acts in Nigeria.
