Water Reticulation: Gov Ahmed To Commission Secondary Phase Next Month

The Governor of Kwara state, Alhaji AbdulFatah Ahmed will commission the secondary phase of Ilorin Water Reticulation in September.

The Senior Special Assistant to governor on Medią, Dr. Muideen Akorede disclosed this today while featuring on a radio programme in Ilorin, the state capital.

Dr. Akorede stated that additional 48,000 households would have access to potable water within Ilorin metropolis after the commissioning.

He revealed that Kwara state government has spent N6.5billion on the project from 2009 till date.

Akorede added that the N1.8billion needed for the last phase-teritiary has been captured in 2018 budget.

“It’s not the plan of government to allow the water reticulation project to take this long but lack of fund is affecting the speed.

“The project is huge! I want to assure our people that the water reticulation will address challenges our people are facing in area of access to potable water.”
