Yobe Govt Condoles with Governor Inuwa over Commissioner’s Demise

A delegation from the Yobe State Government, on Tuesday, 28th October 2025, paid a condolence visit to Governor Inuwa Yahaya and the people of Gombe State over the death of the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, late Colonel Abdullahi Bello (Rtd.).

The delegation, led by the Special Adviser on Security Matters to the Yobe State Governor, Brigadier General Dahiru Abdulsalam (Rtd.), included the Permanent Secretary, Cabinet and Security, Alhaji Annur Muhammed, and the Director of Security, Muhammed Alhaji Baba.

Speaking during the visit at the Government House, Gombe, Brigadier General Abdulsalam conveyed the condolences of the Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni to Governor Inuwa Yahaya, the government, and the people of Gombe State over the sad loss.

He described the late Colonel Abdullahi Bello as a patriotic officer and a dedicated public servant who contributed immensely to the peace and security architecture of Gombe State, noting that his death was a loss not only to Gombe State but to the North-East as a whole.

“The late Colonel Bello was known for his discipline, professionalism and commitment to duty. His contributions to maintaining security and stability will continue to be remembered,” the delegation leader remarked.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed appreciation to Governor Mai Mala Buni and the people of Yobe State for the show of solidarity during the moment of grief, describing the gesture as a proof of the long-standing bond of brotherhood between the two states.

He extolled the virtues of the late Commissioner, describing him as a gallant soldier, a trusted ally, and a committed member of the State Executive Council who served Gombe with distinction until his last breath.

After the visit to the Government House, the delegation proceeded to the family residence of the late Colonel Bello, where they offered prayers for the repose of his soul and comfort for the bereaved family.

They prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, admit him into Aljannatul Firdaus, and grant his family, associates, and the entire Gombe people the fortitude to bear the painful loss.
