Youth Minister, Olawande Inaugurates NYSC Reform Committee

The Minister of Youth Development, Engr. Olawande Emmanuel Ayodele, alongside the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, and the Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination, Hajiya Hadiza Bala Usman, inaugurated the NYSC Reform Committee.

The committee’s mandate is to undertake a comprehensive overhaul of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to enhance its structure, relevance, and impact.

This initiative represents a major step toward realigning the NYSC with national development goals and the evolving needs of Nigerian youth.

During the inauguration, Engr. Ayodele expressed confidence in the committee’s ability to conduct a thorough review of the scheme, transforming it into a more innovative and impactful institution. He urged members to critically assess current operations and propose far-reaching reforms that align with the aspirations of Nigerian youth.

The minister emphasized that the expected outcomes of the review should position the NYSC as a strategic tool for youth empowerment and nation-building.
