… Local government CDC Chairmen collect for 240 widows

The Senior Special Assistant to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Community Intervention, Kayode Oyin-Zubair was described with glowing words by wives of police officers today, in Ilorin.

In a statement by his logistics and support officer, Olawale Gbadeyan said, the Chairperson of Police Officers’ Wives Officer (POWA), Mrs. Elizabeth Egbetokun appreciated the kind gesture of the Governor’s aide for donating foodstuffs to widows in the police barracks.

“We appreciate your genuine care for our people. We are very grateful for this gesture. On our own we have been doing one form of support or the other for the women. We thank you for remembering our widows.”

In his remarks, the Governor’s aide commended POWA for putting up an event to distribute those items.

“For me I had thought we would just share it for the widows and forget until SP Okansanmi said no, there is a culture of appreciation here. I appreciate you a lot. We will do more for you in the coming days; kindly take this as our widow’s mite.

“Our government in collaboration with Aliko Dangote foundation in the coming year will be supporting 16,000 vulnerable women across the State. In future we would factor you in, in all our interventions”, he concluded.
