Zoning is not in APC Constitution – National Secretary

Amidst the ongoing conversation on zoning of political positions, the National Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru has stated that zoning has no place in the party constitution.

Senator Ajibola Basiru stated this in a teaser message on his Facebook page on Monday.

According to him, zoning is not in our constitution. People should be free to contest. When you insist on zoning, aren’t you going to canvass votes in other zones whose aspirants you have denied?

He therefore stated that he is not in support of zoning.

Political Observers however linked the National Secretary’s comment to his plan to contest for Osun State Governorship seat come 2026.

FactualTimes reports that some APC Stakeholders loyal to Minister of Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola are canvassing for zoning of Party governorship ticket to Osun West.
