PDP Candidate, Folajimi Oyekunle Wins Ibadan North Federal Constituency By-election

Folajimi Oyekunle, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for by-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency has emerged winner.

Oyekunle, former Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde defeated the All Progressives Congress candidate during Saturday’s election.

The Returning Officer, Professor Abiodun Oluwadare of the University of Ibadan, made the announcement on Saturday at the Collation Centre in Ikolaba High School, Ibadan.

According to the official results, Hon. Oyekunle secured 18,404 votes, defeating his closest challenger, Hon. Adewale Olatunji, widely known as Murphy, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 8,312 votes.

FactualTimes reports that PDP won all 12 wards in the federal constituency.
