Gombe Governor Congratulates New Deputy Controller General of Corrections, Dr Amos

Gombe State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya has expressed immense delight over the elevation of Dr. Kupan Amos to the rank of Deputy Controller General (DCG) of Corrections in the Nigeria Correctional Service.

Dr. Amos Kupan was officially decorated with his new rank, on Thursday, 25th September, 2025, by the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, following the approval of his promotion by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

An accomplished officer and proud son of Gombe State, Dr. Kupan Amos hails from Kaltungo Local Government Area. He brings to the new role a distinguished career spanning over three decades, marked by integrity, professionalism and exemplary leadership.

Governor Inuwa lauded Dr. Amos for his outstanding trajectory in public service, describing him as a shining example of excellence and hard work, whose rise through the ranks serves as an inspiration to others, especially the upcoming ones.

“Gombe State takes immense pride in this milestone achievement of one of our illustrious sons, who has consistently demonstrated remarkable competence, patriotism and loyalty to the service of our country. This well- deserved elevation also brings honour to our State, as we continues to produce exceptional leaders contributing meaningfully to national development”,Governor Inuwa Yahaya stated.

He urged young professionals, especially within the security and paramilitary services, to emulate the commitment exemplified by DCG Amos Kupan in their respective fields.

The Governor assured the new DCG of the continued support and solidarity of the government and people of Gombe State.

“We celebrate this significant accomplishment with Dr. Amos Kupan and his family, and we pray for his continued success as he takes on greater responsibilities in the service of our nation.”
