Present Your Community Impacts Before Political Office, Amofin Akogun Challenges Rep. Olawuyi

…Says He is More Qualified to Contest

A Stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Amofin Titilope Akogun has challenged the member representing Ekiti/Irepodun/Isin/Oke-ero Federal Constituency in House of Representatives, Hon Raheem Olawuyi Ajuloopin to present his community impacts record before getting access to political office.

Amofin Akogun made this on Sunday in response to comment by Rep Olawuyi’s Aide on failed bills.

Full statement

I read with pity the rejoinder by my one Balogun Jamiu, I know you are the SA Media (Isin) to Hon. Raheem Tunji Olawuyi Ajuloopin, and you are speaking on behalf of your boss.

You have now invited me to further join issues with your principal, Rt. Hon. Raheem Tunji Olawuyi Ajuloopin, through your rejoinder tagged: “Representation is Not for Loud Mouths But Large IQs, Ajuloopin’s Legacy Speaks.”

I welcome this opportunity.

You asserted that I do not have the temerity to question my Representative at the National Assembly. You also claimed I do not have the capacity, nor am I qualified, to contest for the House of Representatives. Perhaps you made these ignorant statements out of pettiness. But let me educate you.

I was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2014 and have practiced law for 11 years. I hold a Master’s Degree in Information Technology Law from the United Kingdom.

When your boss contested for the House of Representatives in 2018, he was not even a graduate. He only later obtained a “top-up degree,” and you know where from.

While I was an undergraduate at the University of Ilorin, I facilitated a road rehabilitation project.
As a Student Union PRO, I facilitated five (5) transformers for my community.

These are the same kinds of projects your boss now parades as achievements as a Rep member which you ignorantly celebrate.

Since 2017, I have consistently reached out to the people of Kwara South with interventions that include:
Water projects (rehabilitation and new ones) in multiple communities.
Over 40 free company registrations for constituents.
Oyinbo Farmer Initiative that trained 101 beneficiaries and gave them ₦50,000 each at the grand finale.
Igi Iwe scheme with over 132 scholarships.
151 free JAMB forms.
Sponsorship of summer lessons and student associations.
Omo Oloore Food Drive supporting farmers and households.
Support grants for market women.
Online Banking Scheme with POS machines + ₦25,000 for 65 beneficiaries.
Operation Feed A Family for indigent households.

And this is just a summary. All these I did in my personal capacity, with my own resources not government funds.

My first pledge when I become your Representative is a training program for one month for all constituents (regardless of qualification), with each participant receiving a ₦250,000 grant.

Even your boss has benefitted from my creativity. He courted me to organize the Ajuloopin Digital Empowerment Program (ADEP 2020), the first Tech Youth Empowerment in Kwara South, and attempted (unsuccessfully) to replicate it in 2021.

I also co-founded the umbrella body of all youth organizations in Kwara South an initiative you now speak about

I have been an advocate for true youth and women empowerment long before your boss stepped into office.

So, tell me: what legacy do you speak of?
✅That since 2018, he has no single bill to his credit?
✅Or that the four bills he proposed all collapsed, just like my grandmother’s breasts?

I challenge your boss to publish his achievements before public office.

I state boldly: I was more qualified than your boss in 2018 when he first contested, and I remain more qualified now. His academic deficiency explains his failed legislative attempts. What he struggles with in Abuja is what I do every day as a consultant.

One thing I will never do is abandon my constituents in penury while spending millions on musicians or flaunting wealth in the faces of the poor.

I assure you: I will not be a benchwarmer. I will speak, act, and deliver results that will make my people proud. I will not waste time chasing shadows with failed bills. I will legislate with strategy and implement programs with real impact.

At that time, I am confident you will have no choice but to commend me for offering True Representation.

Amofin Joseph Titilope Akogun
Aspiring Member, Federal House of Representatives.
