Rivers Speaker Declares Seat of 27 Wike’s Loyalists Vacant

The Speaker Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon Edison Ehie has declared seat of 27 members vacant.

Hon Edison Ehie made this announcement while Presiding over the plenary on Wednesday.

The Speaker said the decision became necessary following their defection to All Progressives Congress (APC) from Peoples Democratic Party.

The assembly will officially communicate to INEC on the vacant seats of the State Constituencies and the need to conduct fresh elections to fill up the vacant seats.

Rivers State House of Assembly has only 6 members officially recognized by law.
