A Board member of TETFUND representing North Central, Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun has facilitated projects worth over ₦14billion for tertiary institutions across Kwara State and secured employment over 50 Kwara indigenes.
The Coordinator of Blue Cap Movement, Dr Towoju Ade while speaking at a press conference said the gathering was convened to reflect on the group’s political journey, celebrate collective achievements, recognise contributors, and outline its vision for the future.
Dr. Towoju described the Blue Cap Movement as a platform committed to promoting good governance, equity, fairness, and inclusive development, stressing that the group supports only leaders with proven capacity, competence, and integrity.
According to him, politics must remain people-centred, adding that good governance is the essence of democratic engagement.
The group endorsed Engr. Nurudeen Adeyemi Balogun, a son of Kwara South from Essie in Irepodun Local Government Area, describing him as a capable and transformational leader. Despite not having held elective office, Dr. Towoju said Engr. Balogun has distinguished himself through strategic appointments and personal initiatives.
He noted that as a Board of Trustees member representing North Central at TETFUND, Engr. Balogun has facilitated projects worth over ₦14 billion for tertiary institutions in Kwara State within one year, in addition to securing employment opportunities for more than 53 Kwara indigenes across institutions in the North Central zone.
Also highlighted were Engr. Balogun’s contributions to community development through the Igbomina Mobile Clinic, support for community-based security initiatives in Kwara South, and the establishment of the ENACT Technology Hub in Ajase-Ipo, which provides free ICT training and start-up equipment to youths.
He has also facilitated borehole projects and supported religious, ethnic, and community organisations with critical infrastructure.
The group appealed to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to support Engr. Balogun’s political aspirations, describing his experience and exposure as complementary to the administration’s development agenda. It also called on APC members, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and well-meaning Kwarans to rally support for him in the interest of continuity, peace, and sustainable development.
At the national level, the movement commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for introducing bold and strategic reforms aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s economy, strengthening infrastructure, improving national security, and empowering small and medium-scale enterprises.
Towoju noted that while reforms take time to mature, President Tinubu has demonstrated uncommon courage in tackling long-standing national challenges, declaring the group’s support for his re-election to consolidate ongoing initiatives.
On the state front, the Blue Cap Movement praised the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, citing achievements in healthcare delivery, education reforms, social welfare, infrastructure development, and fiscal discipline.
