2027: Mashood Mustapha, Oyedepo, Over 20,000 Kwara Redemption Movement Members Join ADC

Over 20,000 members of Kwara Redemption Movement (KRM) led by former Chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo have declared for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of 2027 general elections.

KRM Convener, Akogun Iyiola Oyedepo while speaking at the Movement gathering in Ilorin on Saturday said APC has became a one man/family dominated party in Kwara State.

According to him, KRM was formed in the month of February, 2024 with a clear motive to direct the people of this state towards genuine change and progress which was the purpose of Otooge before it was aborted. For the two years of the existence of KRM we have further raised the level of political consciousness using radio programs as tools of sensitization.

He added: “At inception it was to operate mainly within the APC. But as APC became a one man/family dominated party in Kwara State, there was the need to look for another platform to accommodate alternative views and stand on Kwara politics.

“The inheritors of OTOOGE struggle have made nonsense of what we fought for and thereby complicated the essence of our efforts. And there was no internal mechanism to check misgovernment of the present administration in Kwara State.”

The former PDP State Chairman said virtually all the evils we fought for are manifested in the present system. He emphasized that ‘People of integrity and character should dissociate themselves from deception passed for governance in Kwara.’

Oyedepo therefore directed all members to the movement to join ADC by registering at their respective wards.

Former Federal Lawmaker, Hon. Mashood Mustapha, Shaaba Lafiagi and other Bigwigs in OTOGE struggle graced the event.
