The Bauchi State Police Command disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday after investigations into reports of thuggery in the community.

According to Habib, the operation, which kicked off in the early hours of October 15, resulted in the arrest of nine suspects at a hideout.

In addition to the arrests, the police confiscated machetes, cutlasses, knives, sticks, illicit substances and other items from the arrested individuals.

Habib said investigators subsequently charged eight of the suspects to court, where they pleaded guilty to the offences and were convicted and sentenced.
