Performance of Hon. Ahmed Fatimah Bisola in the last 4months: We are not in competition with anyone, and we are doing very fine
– As we speak, plans have been concluded on the Kwara Education Summit. Timetable is already on ground. All that is left is the date for the Summit, which will be determined once the world is healed of the Coronavirus COVID-19.
Surely, this summit will birth a new beginning in our Education sector.
– The understaffing of schools in suburbs is being looked into.
When schools resume after this lockdown, teachers will be drafted to schools who are understaffed, most importantly, the core subject teachers.
– Upgrading of infrastructures in various schools across the state are still ongoing, and our schools will be wearing a new look in the coming months.
– Training and Retraining of Teachers will follow.
– New Local Government Education Secretaries have been appointed.
This is aimed at achieving some developmental goals in the education sector.
– A new and highly experienced Director PRS (Planning, Research & Statistics) just came on board. He has been charged to speedily work with his team and carryout the necessary research get some statistical data available for implementation.
– On the ongoing e-tutorial class, a review is being done. An Education-ICT firm already made a better e-tutorial class platform available. Once everything is perfected, the e-class will resume in style.
– On Exchange Programme, the Hon. Commissioner personally supervised the taking off of the Students to their respective states, and the exercise was highly commended by the Parents of the exchange students.
She is the first Commissioner to personally supervise the proceedings of the exchange programme in the history of the State – as stated by the Parents.
– Facility Assessment: Hon. Bisola have visited many schools in the state, for on-the-spot assessment of the infrastructural facilities and teaching aids. More schools would be captured in the next set of mass school renovation by her Ministry.
– On getting Educational Aids from developed countries: The Hon. Commissioner met with the representatives of USAID in Abuja this year. It’s the COVID-19 pandemic that is putting the proceedings on hold. And the Commissioner is not stopping at that, she is presently tapping the wide connection of our able Governor to link up with other donor agencies.
– Feeding of Boarding House Students in the State: Hon Bisola visited the three schools running boarding programme. She paid those visits during dinner on many occasions, and her first point of call was always the kitchen.
Just few days ago, she met with the Principals of this schools in her office. Their discussion centred on how to make things better than it is.
– COVID-19: Before schools were shut, the Hon. Commissioner sensitized the pupils and their teachers on the virus, and hand washing gadgets were distributed.
The advocacy didn’t stop at government schools, she also visited some private schools in the state.
– Homegrown School Feeding Programme: All things being equal, this programme will kickstart this year.
– Lockdown Palliatives: as the lockdown order continues to take its toll on people, Bisola assisted her people by providing hand sanitizers and food items. These can be verified from her Ward.
– Ramadan Package: aside what she has been giving to individuals, she provided food items for over 200 people in her country home Community; Agaka during the weekend.
– Just yesterday, she donated the sum of *Fifty Thousand Naira (#50,000.00)* to the *Alanamu Central Ward Palliative Committee.*
*The issue is, when it comes to giving to the less-privilege, Hon Bisola doesn’t like us publicising it. She sees it as a business between her and her God.*
We are not perfect and we remain open to criticism, as long as it will help us improve in our work, and make the Kwara Education sector far better than we met it.
But it is important to know that Bisola is the cool and quiet type, that’s how her God created her, but her quietness doesn’t mean incapability, she is sound and fit for the task ahead.
