2027: Hakeem Lawal Dumps SDP, May Return To APC
Son of late Kwara State Governor, Hakeem Lawal has resigned his membership of Social Democratic Party (SDP).
Hakeem Lawal, the SDP gubernatorial candidate in 2023 general elections submitted his resignation letter two days after meeting Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
His resignation letter reads: “After wide-ranging consultations, careful reflection, and sincere consideration of counsel from my political family and other well-meaning stakeholders across the political spectrum, I have formally resigned my membership of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).”
FactualTimes reports that the Ilorin East Politician is planning to return to the All Progressives Congress.
Recall that he aspired for APC governorship ticket alongside 10 other Aspirants which include Governor Abdulrazaq.
Hakeem Lawal dumped APC in 2022 to contest the governorship election on the platform of SDP during 2023 polls.
