2023: ANNANG GROUP ALLEGES PLOT TO STOP AKPABIO FROM BEING ON THE BALLOT

A renowned socio-political group, Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Conscience Network (ISDCN), has raised the alarm over a leaked plot orchestrated by those they called ‘desperate politicians’ to fall back on a disgusting tribal politics to blackmail one of the illustrious sons of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, himself the former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, former Minority Leader of Senate and former Minister of the Niger Delta Ministry, Senator Godswill Akpabio, CON.

The group raised the alarm in a statement issued on Monday, jointly signed by Mr. John Sabbath, National Chairman and Ezekiel Udot Ibanga esq, National Secretary and made available to newsmen.

“To say that Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Conscience Network is disappointed over this fiendish plot on the basis of an ethnic superiority agenda against a Godly Man, Senator Godswill Akpabio, is an understatement,” the group noted.
Continuing, they said: “To our chagrin, we read on a plethora of social media platforms that an appointee of the Federal Government who is a staunch member of the APC in the State, prominent Ibibio stakeholders alongside a man who was appointed by Chief Akpabio to serve in his administration as Commissioner have allegedly plotted and rallied “Ibibio Stakeholders” to use a unified front to stop Senator Akpabio from returning to the Senate.

“According to them, Godswill Akpabio should be stopped by all means from winning the senatorial election in 2023 because they are aware that the ‘Uncommon Transformer’ when returning to the Senate, will be put on the pedestal of becoming a principal officer.

“These selfish men who have sleepless night and developed severe headache over Senator Akpabio’s rising profile and breathtaking achievements think that, if Akpabio should return to the Senate, he would be in a position to end the state of extreme hunger caused by those who do not mean well for the people. It is sad that the detractors forget that Senator Godswill Akpabio is the Uko Akwa Ibom, an Ibibio son by adoption with the best legacies of his administration bestriding the entire Ibibio land.
“We have also gathered in good authority about the many nocturnal meetings at the instance of the current Minister and the candidate of PDP to blackmail Senator Akpabio and APC through orchestrated false reports and paid write-ups.

“Their aim is to distort, destroy and tarnish the reputation and great achievements of a man who is synonymous to Uncommon Transformation and is the most celebrated Akwa Ibom Governor till date. He is a quintessential, committed, loyal, and trusted statesman and loved by the people. His antecedents, the tasks he has undertaken on behalf of his party (assigned and voluntarily assumed), and the contributions he has made for his people and Nigerians at large have shown that he is a genuine leader whose devotion, motivation, and interest are unquestionable by all reasonable members of his party and beyond.

“We use this medium to inform the general public and the good people of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District in particular to be wary of their evil plan and discountenance any negative and baseless reports against our leader”

“We call on all supporters and believers of Senator Godswill Akpabio not be distracted by the current judicial setback, as we are confident that the Supreme God will grant us victory at the Supreme Court.” the statement concluded.
