Abioye Appeals Court Judgement

…Supporters Raise Concern Over APC Double Standard

The winner of All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives Primary election for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency, Hon Tajudeen Olabisi Abioye has appealed court judgement against his nomination.

Hon Tajudeen Olabisi Abioye in a swift reaction to Federal High Court judgment that declared Ismail Tijani as winner of APC Primary election for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency, vows to defend his mandate.

He noted that Ismail Tijani did not approach APC Appeal panel inline with party guidelines.

Recall that Tajudeen Abioye polled 87 votes to defeat Ismail Tijani and seven others during Primary election Committee led by Hon Simon Oche and Hon Isah Ahmed Amshaga on May 27, 2022.

Abioye’s statement read in part: “The rumour of Federal High Court, judgement was said to be in favour of TIJANI even when it was obvious that he has no APC certificate of Return, No Electoral Committee Report, No Appeal Panel Report and the case was even based an assumption. But we no very well Nigeria factors in all the facets of our lives. But we still have high confidence in the Judiciary and as such we have proceeded to Court of Appeal.

“We shall not relent until we get justice and retain our Mandate. Meanwhile, HON. Tajudeen Olabiisi Abioye is still the authentic Candidate recognised by Law and INEC till the final determination of the case. We assure you that, insha Allah, we are safe with the Judiciary at the higher level who can not be easily compromised. Thanks so much”.

Meanwhile, some supporters of Hon Tajudeen Abioye have alleged Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Prince Sunday Fagbemi led Kwara APC of misleading the court by submitting two affidavits.

Kwara APC reportedly submitted another affidavit last week to affirm Ismail Tijani as party’s candidate for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency.

They also alleged Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of directing Fagbemi to recuse Party State Legal Adviser from the case in order to present another counsel.
