CSO Condemns Military Over Attacks on Sanwo-Olu
A Civil Society Group, Patriotic Youth Movement has condemned attacks on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu by some military officers over recent arrest of a Soldier for driving motorcycle against one-way in Lagos.
Patriotic Youth Movement in statement issued on Monday by its Convener, Jacob Oyebade described reaction of military to arrest of their officers plying one-way as reckless, unlawful and unpatriotic.
According to Oyebade, it’s disheartening that Nigerian Army fails to call their officers disobeying traffic law to order, thereby encouraging lawlessness in the society.

The Organization noted that Governor Sanwo-Olu deserves commendation for his courage and boldness in uphold the law and constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria as No 1 citizen of Lagos State.
“We believe the Military are not above the law. They must also obey law and regulations guiding the society. We are yet to see any exemption for military officers in uniform or in motif to disobey traffic laws for selfish reasons. It’s unpatriotic and military heriarcy should do better by calling their men to order.
“It’s disrespect for Military Officers to be attacking His Excellency, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for ordering arrest of lawless motorcyclists, irrespective of their occupation. Every citizen must be law abiding.
The group therefore applauded Governor Sanwo-Olu for his determination to restore law and order in order to ensure public safety and tranquility.
