Edo 2024: Tribunal Relocates To Abuja

Edo State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has relocated from Benin City to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The Tribunal Secretary for Edo 2024, Mu’azu Bagudu announced this via a notice issued on Friday. parties to the case were informed of the relocation.

The notice read in part, “I am directed to notify all parties that the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Benin City, Edo State, has been relocated to Abuja at the National Judicial Institute (NJI), Airport Road, Abuja, effective from Monday, 27th January, 2025.”

FactualTimes gathered that the relocation is linked to disturbance cause by APC and PDP supporters.

Recall that Asue Igbodalo of PDP dragged Governor Monday Okpebholo to tribunal. The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Okpebholo of APC winner of September 21, 2024 Edo governorship election.
