Former Presidential Candidate, Gbenga Hashim Commends Kwara Governor for Fostering Peace 

Businessman and former presidential candidate, Dr. Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has lauded Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, for fostering peace and stability in the state. He made this remark while commissioning a newly constructed 1KM asphalt road in Ifedolapo community, located in the Pipeline area of Ilorin, Kwara State.

The road project, fully funded by Olawepo-Hashim, was commissioned by former Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Dr. Victor Obong Attah. The event attracted top political and business leaders from across Nigeria, including former Governor of Jigawa State and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alhaji Sule Lamido; former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Asimiyu Alarape; and Chairman of Sobi FM, Mallam Lukman Mustapha. Others in attendance included former Kwara State Commissioner for Water and Women Affairs, Dr. Mopelola Abdulmalik Bashir, and former Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Akaje Ibrahim, among others.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Olawepo-Hashim commended Governor AbdulRazaq for ensuring a peaceful and conducive environment for development in Kwara. He emphasized that peace is a fundamental pillar for economic growth and community advancement, noting that it enables private-sector-driven initiatives like the road project to thrive.

Dr. Victor Obong Attah, while delivering his remarks, praised Olawepo-Hashim for his unwavering commitment to national development and community empowerment. Similarly, former Governor Sule Lamido lauded the project, humorously renaming the road Gbenga Residential Area (GRA) and highlighting Olawepo-Hashim’s contributions to national progress.

Residents of Ifedolapo community, led by their Chairman, Alhaji Gani Adeshina, expressed their appreciation, noting that the new road would significantly improve transportation, boost local businesses, and enhance access to essential services.

The newly commissioned 1KM road adds to several other road projects that Olawepo-Hashim has supported in Kwara, linking Excellence Hall to the newly constructed Danialu Awolowo Road.

This initiative further reinforces Dr. Olawepo-Hashim’s legacy as a leader committed to infrastructure development and social progress.
