Insecurity: ASKOMP Engages US Based Security Expert
A United States of America based Security Expert and the governorship candidate of the United Democratic Party (UDP) during 2019 general elections in Kwara State, Mr Adetunji Oyabambi has charged government at various levels to deploy technology to growing kidnapping, banditry and insecurity ravaging the country.
Oyabambi stated this on Thursday while playing host to the Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) at his Ilorin GRA residence.
The Security expert said the insecurity in Nigeria requires ‘New Thinking’, modern training for security personnel and procurement of technologically enhanced gadgets to secure, collate data and monitor every part of the Country.
He however observed that the lack of database and adequate equipment including patrol vehicles for security agencies is contributing in no small measure in the worsening security situations across the country.
Speaking on Kwara State’s filthy environment, Oyabambi said there is need to improve waste management strategy in order to keep the State clean, attractive and hygiene for the citizens.
”The waste management situation in Kwara state is not pleasing. Almost every part of Ilorin, the state capital is being design with refuse. Go to Emir’s Palace, Tanke, Taiwo road, Sango, Ipata and other places. We can’t continue like this and I hope the state government will introduce policy to address this challenge.” He explained
”We need to sensitize our people to stop the habit of dropping refuse along the road. Kwara State can take a cue from what LAWMA is doing in Lagos.”
The Kwara born politician who recently decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC) urged Kwara youth to collaborate for career growth and the state development, saying ‘Please don’t let’s allow our political affiliation to divide us”.
Earlier, ASKOMP Chairman, Salihu Shola Taofeek applauded Mr Adetunji Oyabambi for his humanitarian and community development efforts despite not holding any political office.
