Kano Govt Employs 1000 As Sanitation Vanguard

The Kano State Government has employed 1,000 youths as sanitation vanguards to improve cleanliness in the state.
Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje disclosed this in Kano on Wednesday during the presentation of letters of appointment to the beneficiaries at the Government House.
Ganduje said that the youth were employed to empower them economically and give them a space in the state government’s development drive.
He said that the work schedule of the sanitation vanguards include inspection of abattoirs, hotels, restaurants, markets and event centres in the state.
The governor expressed seriousness of the government to ensure cleaniness of Kano state, adding that his administration had established mobile courts to prosecute defaulters of the state’s environmental laws.
Ganduje explained that over three Hundred women among the 1, 000 environmental Vanguard will Inspect Houses to ensure the environmental sanitation while two Hundred thousand Mosquito nets will be distributed to the public.
