Kwara 2027: Ilorin South PDP Stakeholders Rally Behind Saraki, Call for Unity
Stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ilorin South Local Government have reaffirmed their unalloyed support for former Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, while calling on party members to embrace unity, discipline, and collective purpose ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a letter addressed to the former Senate President which was retrieved by Factualtimes, the stakeholders praised Saraki’s leadership, resilience, and commitment to the growth of the PDP, describing him as a stabilizing force whose guidance continues to inspire confidence among party faithful across Kwara State and beyond.
The stakeholders stressed that the party’s immediate priority should be strengthening its structures, mobilizing supporters, and positioning itself to reclaim power, rather than engaging in premature contests over elective positions.
According to the group, recent discussions surrounding the Kwara Central Senatorial ticket should not distract the party from its larger objective of securing victory in the 2027 elections.
They emphasized that while every party member has the legitimate right to aspire to elective office, such ambitions must be pursued in a manner that promotes unity and preserves the cohesion of the party.
The stakeholders further advocated for a level playing field and a transparent process that would allow interested aspirants to freely contest while ensuring that the overall interest of the PDP remains paramount.
Reaffirming their confidence in the party’s leadership structure, the group noted that respect for constituted authority and internal discipline have remained key strengths of the PDP over the years.
They also expressed optimism about the party’s prospects in future elections, arguing that growing public dissatisfaction with the ruling APC presents the PDP with an opportunity to rebuild public trust and emerge as the preferred alternative for Nigerians.
The forum pledged its readiness to abide by decisions reached through the established organs of the party and urged members to remain focused on the collective goal of returning the PDP to power.
The stakeholders concluded by offering prayers for Saraki and expressing confidence that his continued leadership would guide the party toward greater unity, stability, and electoral success in 2027.
