Kwara LG Polls: Anxiety As APC Holds Primary Election

The All Progressives Congress will on Tuesday hold primary election to select Party’s candidates ahead of September 21 Kwara local government elections.
The Kwara APC Secretary, Alhaji Mustapha Ishowo disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen during the weekend.
The party will select 16 Chairmanship and 193 Councillorship candidates across 16 local government areas.
Recall that the ruling party postponed it primary election last week following extension of deadline to July 4 for Submission of candidates by Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC)
Our Correspondent reports that the Peoples Democratic Party conducted primary election for Councillors and Chairmen on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
Former Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s Aide, Musbau Esinrogunjo emerged as PDP candidate for Ilorin West local government.
13 political parties including SDP, NNPP and Labour Party are participating in the first local government election under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led administration in Kwara State.
