Kwara YPP Holds Statewide Meeting, Unveils Mobilisation Agenda

The Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Kwara State today convened a comprehensive statewide strategic meeting involving stakeholders and leaders from all 16 local government areas. The session was chaired by Chief Dele Ogunbayo JP, the State Chairman of YPP.

The meeting focused on evaluating existing party structures and planning for enhanced political mobilization ahead of future electoral contests. Following robust deliberations, members resolved on a five-point plan aimed at rejuvenating the party:
• Strengthen Party Infrastructure: A resolution was passed to reinforce party organs and activities at ward, local government, and state levels to improve operational effectiveness and boost grassroots engagement.
• Inclusive Membership Policy: Emphasis was placed on harmonizing both longstanding and newly recruited members within the party framework without discrimination, fostering greater unity and reducing internal divisions.
• Reconciliation Strategy for Disaffected Members: The party will launch outreach and reconciliation initiatives targeting aggrieved members, aiming to rebuild trust and encourage full participation in party affairs.
• Affirmation of Party Authority: Party leaders reiterated that all members—regardless of rank—must adhere to the authority of party organs and the constitution, reinforcing collective discipline and constitutional compliance.
• Immediate Resumption of Meetings: The meeting mandated the immediate establishment of regular meetings at all party tiers to facilitate policy discussions, member engagement, and structured mobilisation.

Chief Ogunbayo reaffirmed YPP Kwara’s commitment to participatory democracy, youth empowerment, and progressive leadership. He urged all party members to maintain discipline, loyalty, and collective responsibility as they implement the resolutions.

This development underscores YPP’s strategic drive to deepen its grassroots presence in Kwara State and to unify its base ahead of the next election cycles.
