Netanyahu Receives Hero of Attempt Plane Hijack

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the man who intervened during a stabbing incident aboard a FlyDubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv, describing him “a hero” and “a big hero.”

The man, who was still wearing the blood-stained shirt from the flight, described the incident as extremely close to becoming a disaster, saying the plane was “on the border” of Israeli airspace.

Israeli officials said the co-pilot stabbed the pilot and tried to crash the aircraft before passengers subdued him. Other pilots later took control and landed the plane safely in Saudi Arabia.

The airline said the reasons behind the incident remained unknown and warned against premature speculation.
