NGF Dodging Engagement on Tax Bills, Taiwo Oyedele Alleges

Chairman, Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee, Mr Taiwo Oyedele has alleged Nigeria’s Governors Forum of dodging engagement on proposed tax bills.

Oyedele disclosed this while featuring on Arise News Television on Monday.

According to him, the Governor’s Forum invited us four times and cancelled four times and by the time they had time for us, they said we have only 15 minutes.

He said only Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu met them out of six shortlisted from six geo-political zones.

Taiwo also stated that the tax committee met with Finance Commissioners, State Internal Revenue Services, 120 clerics and other stakeholders across Nigeria.

He therefore dismissed claims by some Governors that they were not consulted.
