Following the rumor that Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed’s administration has abandoned rural housing project flag-off few years ago, the Kwara state government on Saturday said the project is being funded by a non- governmental organisation-African National Development Programme in collaboration with United Nations.

The Senior Special Assistant to Kwara Governor on Media and Communications, Dr. Muideen Akorede in a chat with newsmen stated that the state government only provided land for the project after due diligence and consideration of its benefits to kwarans.

Akorede explained that Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed approved the land allocation in some local government areas to address housing challenges being experience by vulnerable households.

According to him, the rural housing project is being funded by African National Development Programme through grant from United Nations.

Akorede hinted that some of the housing units in Ifelodun local government are at lintel stage and will be completed base on availability of fund.

”The housing units when completed will be allotted to some vulnerable households in the society base on World Bank Register like we did for IVTEC.” He noted.

He therefore assured kwarans that Governor AbdulFatah Ahmed will continue to work towards improving wellbeing till his last day in office.
