Ogun 2027: PDP Challenges Adebutu’s omission, Accuses APC of interference
By Molayo Anjorin
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the All Progressives Congress of unduly influencing the Independent National Electoral Commission to remove its candidate, Oladipupo Adebutu from the final list for the Ogun 2027 governorship election.
Ogun PDP Publicity Secretary, Kayode Adebayo in a statement issued during the weekend, said Adebutu meets all requirements for elections.
Adebayo said: “The public should be informed that the omission of our candidate’s name in INEC’s list is a result of the undue pressure mounted by the ruling party on INEC out of fear of losing the election to our party”.

He noted that Adebutu fulfilled all the requirements for a member of the PDP including the issuance of his membership card, registration and verification, adding that they submitted the candidate’s details to INEC in time.
The statement released was a reaction to the news that Adebutu and his running mate were not on the candidates’ list released by INEC on October 10, and the commission did not give a reason for the exclusion of the PDP candidates in the document.
