Ogundoyin Hails NILDS As State Assembly Speakers Workshop Commences in Abuja

The Chairman Conference of State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin has commended the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) for strengthening democratic rule in Nigeria.

Ogundoyin who is the Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly gave this commendation on Thursday at opening session of Conference of Speakers workshop in Abuja.

According to him, the workshop will create platform to harmonize Standing Orders for State Houses of Assembly across the country and review our nation’s constitution.

His words: “This groundbreaking initiative aims to strengthen legislative governance, promote transparency, and enhance accountability at the sub-national level.

“Together with my colleagues, we are committed to shaping the future of democracy in Nigeria and ensuring that our legislative institutions remain robust and effective.

“I am grateful for the support of our partners, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) and the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), and I look forward to fruitful discussions and productive engagements.”

The Director General NILDS, Prof Abubakar Sulaiman, International Partners and key stakeholders also attended the workshop.
