Ondo 2020: Agboola Ajayi Jostle For Primacy Syndrome
Fisayo Olafusi
As the Ondo State governorship election is on crescendo, there are virtually increase tempo of both ordinate and inordinate interested candidates in the state who are pulling obviously, their weights out for the electorates to develop much sympathy if not interest, in their political ambitions.
Almost all the time, in electioneering period, there are strong indications that, both sympathy and interest are inseparable twins that most politicians do use to allure people for massive votes that will guarantee them logical winning of their intended aspiring seats of power eyeing for ages.
Interest is known to be, a great attention and concern from someone or something otherwise, Sympathy is a feeling of pity for someone. These two madalities most of the time, are combined by political gladiators in surpassing their political rivals. But if not juxtaposed well, could materialise to defeat of their users.
Analogically, the eyeing of the top seat in Alagbaka government house come October 10 by the deputy governor Mr. Agboola Ajayi has become palpable due to his wearing of three diffrent parties Jerseys within two months with which no one could fanthom it’s spontaneity and his defection truism. And this has earned him the appellation of Inordinate politician” in the state.
His intention to challenge his boss Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu(APC) and Mr. Eyitayo Jegede his rival in PDP, at the gubernatorial poll led his movement to Zenith Labour Party(ZLP) in recent time so that the battle field will be well draw for him to face them with the belief that, in large extent, he will gain sympathies from the good people of Ondo State rather than revamping his smearing reputation by his former party’s (APC) members and boss. Reviving his reputation, will interest people of the state to vote for him.
Some members of the ZLP have joined forces with APC and PDP in the state for they knew their party cannot in anyway for now, win election in Ondo State. Which Mr. Agboola Ajayi should take in consideration by withdraw himself from being the party’s standard bearer.
His(Ajayi) vying for governor’s seat shouldn’t be monkey in the jungle(Inordinate) rather it should be ordinate through masses acceptabilities that will credence his governorship ambition. He should have accept his fate after all hope to fly the flag of PDP and be the running mate to Jegede have proved abortive, by honourably heading home after his tenure as deputy under the incumbent governor lapsed. Which this will make him valuable when else he comes back to contest for the state’s governor seat. Apparently, he should have learn from Olusola Oke whom after loosing the primary election in APC defected to AD in 2016 with the hope of emerging as the new governor of the state without knowing that, he would be 3rd rather than envisage 1st in that election.
