The Kwara State Polytechnic (KwaraPoly), Ilorin has expressed its readiness for resumption, stressing that all necessary measures are being put in place to ensure COVID-19 compliance.
The Rector of KwaraPoly, Dr. Abdul Jimoh Mohammed disclosed this when members of the Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP), the umbrella body of professional online media practitioners paid him a courtesy visit in his office on Monday.

The Rector said the institution is ready to resume without putting the lives of Students and lecturers to risk, noting that they have commenced massive production of hands free pedal hand washing machine.

He said: “One of the conditions for schools reopening is making provision for hands washing machines and we’re massively producing that and we’ll have at least one four face machine per department for a start.
“We’re also working in conjunction with the Kwara State government and the COVID-19 technical committee on the fumigation of the whole institution. We’ve also commissioned our Science and Laboratory Technology (SLT) department for massive procurement of pocket size hand sanitisers” he stressed
Speaking on measures put in place to tackle overcrowding which has been one of the major bane of the institution, he said “as we all know, social and physical distancing is one of the most important COVID-19 guidelines, so we’ve commenced the remodelling of our chairs away from the age long mass seating arrangement we used to have.
“We’re working on a four seater physical distancing compliant chair and within the limited resources available to the institution, we’re making judicious use of it to ensure we’re not caught unawares, when go ahead is given to tertiary institutions to resume by relevant authorities” he added
