Amb Mohammed Congratulates New Kwara Assembly Speaker, Salihu Danladi

Amb Mohammed Abubakar Mohammed has congratulated newly elected Speaker of 9th Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Salihu Yakubu Danladi.

Amb Mohammed in a statement issued on Tuesday described the election of Hon Danladi as a blessing to youths and Kwara North senatorial district.

He said the new speaker is a good friend back in Federal University of Technology, Minna and brother from the same zone.

The APN Stalwart advised Hon Danladi to be a good ambassador of Kwara North and youths in politics, noting that his performance will help people to rely on other young people seeking leadership position.

I wish to join legion of Kwarans most especially the youths in felicitating the emergence of Hon. Salihu Danladi Yaqub as the speaker of the 9th Assembly of the State House of Assembly.

His emergence is indeed the birth of a new dawn for the youths who actually were the champion of the newly fond liberation enjoying by the State. If we had not have young people as beneficiaries of this struggle, it would have been an effort in futility.

I hope we youths would feel inspired and challenged by the success of Danladi of Kwara and others young honourable men who have been saddled with positions of authorities, by emulating them comes next dispensation. It is high time we get involved fully and stopped being pushed around. We have to take what is our if the elders are not ready to relinquish it honourably….

Kwara State has joined the league of States with strong respect for not-too-young-to- rule policy by unanimously electing a 34 year old as speaker.

While respect must be accorded to those who made this possible, special accolades must be accorded to the leadership of All Progressives Congress, Kwara State chapter for zoning the speakership post to Kwara North in the spirit of fairness and justice.

It is, therefore, not exaggerative to say that such arrangement has put PDP and of course other opposition parties in utter confusion given their devilish permutations on key appointments so far made by this administration.

It is indeed an historic day in the annals of democratic governance in Kwara State. The emergence of Rt. Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi is a pointer to the generational direction the State is headed, by making the youth which constitute no fewer than 65% of the State’s population the catalyst to drive our developmental aspirations as a State.

This is a huge responsibility entrusted on the youth by the APC led Kwara State Government and therefore all hands must be on deck towards ensuring the 9th Assembly meets the yearnings and aspirations of the electorates.

The fate of the teeming youth population of the State, lies in the hands of the 9th Kwara State House of Assembly which is populated with members below the age of 40, there actions and inactions will to a large extent be a litmus test for the readiness of the next generation of leaders in the State to take the mantle of leadership and lead Kwara State to its promised land.
