Senator Kingibe Criticises FCT Minister for Revoking UniAbuja Land
Senator Ireti Kingibe, who represents the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the Nigerian Senate criticised President Bola Tinubu for appointing of Nyesom Wike as the FCT Minister.
Senator Kingibe accused Wike of ruling with impunity and autocracy, violating the rule of law, and ignoring constitutional procedures
Kingibe specifically criticized Wike for reintroducing agencies without the necessary enabling laws from the National Assembly and for revoking about 7,000 hectares of land originally allocated to the University of Abuja, which she said is against the Land Use Act.

She said these actions have caused job losses and widespread dissatisfaction among Abuja residents. According to Kingibe, Wike acts as if “he can do anything” without regard for legal or procedural norms.
This critique reflects a tense relationship between the FCT Senator and the Minister, highlighting concerns over governance and legality issues in the administration of the Federal Capital Territory under Wike’s leadership.
