SYD Progressive Youth Financial Support Scheme Enters Week 6
The Progressive Family Support Scheme, supported by Kwara Progressive Youth for SYD, has entered its sixth week of providing ₦20,000 weekly financial assistance to selected beneficiaries across Kwara State.
The initiative is aimed at supporting individuals and families facing economic challenges by providing regular financial relief to help them meet essential household needs and cope with the rising cost of living.
The scheme, according to the organisers, is an extension of their previous interventions in education, which included support for less-privileged students through assistance with WAEC and other educational needs.
The ₦20,000 weekly family support programme was introduced as part of efforts to provide direct assistance to vulnerable members of society and strengthen grassroots support across the state.
In a statement signed by Mallam Yusuf and Mr Abioye Olatunji, PhD, the organisers said the initiative is being implemented with the support and participation of Kwara Progressive Youth for SYD.
They explained that the intervention has already reached beneficiaries in several communities, including Idi-Ishin and Ile Panu in the Agbarere area of Ilorin East, Ile Labala in Ilorin South, and Asa Dam in Ilorin West, among others.
The organisers said the programme is being rolled out gradually, with plans to extend the support to communities across all 16 local government areas of Kwara State within a short period.
During the latest phase of the intervention at Idi-Ishin, Agbarere Quarters, Koro Adodo and Agbadamu Jogbo Jogbo areas of Ilorin East Local Government, residents led by Mallam Abubakar Sulyman expressed appreciation to the organisers for bringing the initiative to their community.
The residents described the intervention as timely and helpful, particularly at a period when many families are struggling with the increasing cost of food and other basic necessities.
One of the beneficiaries, Iya Biliki, said the support would go a long way in helping her provide food for her children and attend to other pressing needs at home.
Another beneficiary, Iya Abu Onikoko, said the financial assistance would also help her improve her small business by enabling her to purchase more goods and serve her customers better.
The Progressive Family Support Scheme said it would continue working to expand the intervention and reach more families and individuals across Kwara State.
According to the organisers, the ultimate goal is to provide consistent grassroots support and bring meaningful relief to people who need it most.
