Sardauna AbdulRazaq Projects Ilorin Emirate Identity at UN General Assembly

Since his turbaning as the Sardauna of Ilorin — the Defence Minister of the Emirate — Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has carried the identity of the Ilorin Emirate with unmistakable pride and honour wherever he goes.

The energy, dignity and sense of responsibility that comes with the revered title are obvious in his carriage, his words and his actions. He does not wear the title as a mere ornament; he lives it.

That was evident when he proudly mentioned his title as the Sardauna of Ilorin at a United Nations gathering. For every true son and daughter of the Emirate, that was not just a mention — it was a mark of pride, a bold declaration of cultural identity on the global stage.

At a time when many hide their roots to sound cosmopolitan, Governor AbdulRazaq has chosen to project Ilorin to the world. He has shown that modern governance and deep cultural rootedness are not mutually exclusive.

The Sardauna has indeed become a worthy ambassador of the Emirate — defending its values, promoting its heritage, and placing Ilorin in conversations that matter globally.
