Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara on Tuesday shunned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum meeting held on Tuesday.

Fubara absence stirred controversy due to romance of his predecessor, Nyesom Wike with President Bola Tinubu and other APC leaders.

Some Political Watchers feel Wike might influence the Rivers State Governor to defect to APC.

Meanwhile, Chairman, PDP Governors’ Forum, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State dismissed the speculations, noting that Fubara sends apology for his absence.

At the meeting, the forum resolved to work together to provide a platform for peer review of issues, policies, programmes and achievements (legacy projects) of member-Governors across the PDP States.

They advised the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the security agencies, and the Federal Government to be neutral in the conduct of the off-season elections in Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo States.
