Ilesha-Baruba Clash: CKNG Condoles Community, Calls For Independent Enquiry
The Coalition of Kwara North Groups (CKNG) has described the recent clash between a team of joint security agencies and some youths in Ilesha-Baruba, Baruten Local Government Area, leading to loss of lives, properties, and various degrees of injuries as unfortunate and avoidable.
CKNG in a statement Jointly signed by its Chairman, Comrade Musa Idtis Buko and Media & Publicity Secretary, Comrade Aliyu Bala Issa explained that the sad incidence as highly avoidable, if all the parties involved and other stakeholders had played their roles with great restraint towards containing the regrettable incidence.
While mourning the departed souls during the faceoff, and praying for the quick recovery of the injured, the group implores all stakeholders in the community to live in peace and work out modalities to forestall such fracas in the future.
They also urged the Kwara State Government to inaugurate a panel of enquiry to unravel what really transpired, in order to establish verifiable facts as opposed to various contradictory versions in circulation.
”It is also imperative for the authority to install Solar powered CCTVs in all border checkpoints to check excesses of security personnel as well as keep reliable data for reference in situations like this.”
The group condoled the Emir; His Highness Prof. Halidu Ibrahim Abubakar (Derekureku IV), and shares the grief of Ilesha-Baruba community.
