John Mahama Promises To Run 24-hour Economy in Ghana
John Mahama has promised to anchor 24-hour economy of Ghana on agriculture and agribusines.
Mahama disclosed this on Tuesday during his second term swearing-in as Ghana President at National Square, Accra.
He said running 24-hour economy will create jobs for unemployment youths and boost the business activities in the West Africa country.
Mahama, who had tried twice before to win back the presidency, was sworn in on January 7, 2025 alongside Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the first woman to become vice president in Ghan
“We will look at our tax regime again so that they are more transparent and fair. I intend to always tell you the truth. I will be decisive and swift with my actions.” He added
“Today should mark the beginning of a new opportunity: We shall reset our dear nation Ghana.”
Chairman Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) and Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu and other Africa leaders attended the inauguration.
John Mahama of National Democratic Congress (NDC) won December 7, 2024 Presidential Election. He first served as President from 2012 to 2015.
