A High Court sitting in Ilorin has declared the suspension if Hon. Saba Yisa Gideon, the lawmaker representing Edu Constituency in Kwara State House of Assembly as unconstitutional.

The Court on Wednesday ordered the Kwara Assembly under the leadership of the Speaker, Rt. Hon Yakubu Danladi to immediate allow Gideon to resume his legislative duties.

Recall that the Assembly suspended the member representing Edu Constituency in December 2025 for three months over allegations of contempt and breach of legislative privileges.

The court also nullified the three-month sanction earlier imposed by the Assembly and ordered payment of all salaries/allowances, and other entitlements withheld during the period of suspension be paid to the lawmaker in full.
