Saraki, Kwara Assembly Member Present As Guber Aspirant Steps Down for Yahaya Seriki

The aspiration of Amb Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki-Gambari to takeover from Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq received a boost as APC Governorship Aspirant from Kwara North, Prince Haliru Dantsoho Mahmud (Dan’s Iya Kaiama) stepped down for him.

Prince Haliru Dantsoho Mahmud announced his withdrawal from Kwara 2027 Governorship Race on Tuesday at M&M Event Centre, Ilorin amidst cheers from Alhaji Ope Saraki, Kwara Assembly Member, Hon Gideon Saba and supporters.

He attributed his decision to Yahaya Seriki’s leadership qualities, experience and humanitarian gesture across the state.

He acknowledged the long-standing agitation for a Kwara North governor, noting that the district has remained a loyal pillar of the APC since 1999 without holding the executive seat.

Mahmud however noted that the current situation requires a bridge-builder who can unite all three senatorial districts.

He highlighted Seriki’s recent N15,000,000 donation for a kidney patient in Kaiama as proof that his heart is with the people of Kwara North.

His words: “My decision is not a retreat, it is a rallying call. It is not weakness, it is wisdom. Ambassador Seriki is one of us, and I believe that one of us is better than none of us”.

Addressing his primary constituency, the Dan’iyan Kaiama assured the people of Kwara North that this was not a betrayal of their cause. He maintained that the district’s time is deferred, not denied and that a unified APC under Seriki represents the best path toward inclusive growth for all districts.
